Horses have long been a part of life in this part of the country. In addition to the role they play in the traditional ranch setting, they have also been used for their therapeutic skills in helping people with a wide range of physical and emotional issues. Through the generosity of friends, we now have two wonderful horses at the ranch. Our founder, Steve, has been busy fencing in pastures, building hay storage sheds, a round pen, and a multi-purpose tack room. The riding arena is nearing completion and the stage is set for a full range of equine programs. We have a neighbor that offers riding lessons for one of our residents and we are looking for trained personnel that can provide additional therapy programs. Like our camping venture, we are trying to develop slowly and determine what services are most beneficial to our residents and other clients.
